Katharina Prochazka: on the way to Austria-Hungary with “German in Austria”

24.09.2018

A uni:docs fellowship from the University of Vienna enabled our Ph.D. student Katharina Prochazka to explore possible connections of physics and linguistics as “language diffusion” in the last three years. After completion of her fellowship, she will join the team of Task Cluster C of the FWF Special Research Programme “German in Austria. Variation - Contact – Perception” from October 1.

The projects of Task Cluster C at the Department of Slavonic Studies of the University of Vienna study historical multilingualism in Austria. In her sub-project, Katharina will investigate German in the context of other languages in the Habsburg Empire and the Second Austrian Republic while completing her dissertation. We congratulate her on her new job and wish her all the best in her new endeavours!
